3-year Russian Visa

Business visas are valid for a period of three years.  Regardless of the dates of entry/exit, number of entries, or period of stay specified by the Russian Interior Ministry or the host organization, US citizens should apply for a three-year multiple-entry business visa. A three-year stay period should be indicated in your visa application when you are requesting a 3-year visa with multiple entries.

To obtain 3-year Russian visa, applicants are required to submit the following documentation:

  • Completed Russian visa application form at visa.kdmid.ru. It is mandatory that the candidate prints and signs the Visa Application Form.

    The application should be addressed to the Russian Consulate in New York (if applied at the Consulate),
  • • Passport of the United States,
  • • There should be one standard passport photo,
  • • Payment to the Russian Consulate in New York by check or money order,
  • • An invitation letter from the host organization.

Applicants may be interviewed by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York and requested, if necessary:

  • The applicant's bank statement;
  • An employer's statement of the applicant's wages for the previous year/half year, or month;
  • Health insurance that covers the period of the first trip in the country to be visited;
  • Applicants should provide documentation regarding their ownership of property in their country of citizenship;
  • A family history certificate is required.

An applicant should submit the following paperwork in order to apply for 3-year Russian visa:

  • The Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation or its local office must issue the Original Letter of Invitation issued by your Russian host organization through the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (telex). Copies of electronic invitations are acceptable.
