MOSCOW – IRKUTSK – VLADIVOSTOK

Epic Trans-Siberian Rail Journey

DAY 1. Depart from the USA Boeing Airbus. Options of other international carriers are available.

DAY 2.  Arrive in Moscow. Our driver will meet you at the airport and take you to the Hotel right in the center of the Russian capital. Receive your train ticket, rest, enjoy Moscow by night.

DAY 3.  A half-day city tour after breakfast will take you to the Kremlin and Red Square – the political, historical and architectural core of Russia. Beautiful churches, imposing monuments and the world’s key museums are all around you to explore.

 

DAY 4.  Enjoy your breakfast and get ready to check out from the hotel at noon. You have another half-day before the Trans-Siberian Express leaves this night. Enjoy more of Moscow, its cuisine, hospitality, shopping. You will board the train with two tickets: one for the span from Moscow to Irkutsk, and the other from Irkutsk to Vladivostok.

 

DAY 5  THROUGH 7 ARE EN ROUTE. Your train will take you through the vastness of Russia, offering you a fascinating sight of the woods, cities, rivers, towns, villages…
DAY 8. You arrive in Irkutsk. This city, founded in the middle of nowhere in 1661 as a minor exile settlement, a hundred years later developed into a prosperous cultural and business center with a population of 10,000 and now is referred to as “the capital of Siberia.” Our driver will meet you at the train station and transfer you to your hotel in Listvyanka. Visit the famous Limnological Museum of Lake Baikal and get acquainted with that unique natural reservoir, which is almost a mile deep, contains the largest stock of pure fresh water in the world and has a surface area larger than Denmark.
DAY 9.  After breakfast take an excursion to Lake Baikal and behold its pristine beauty, take pictures that all your friends will envy and, if you are brave enough, take a dip in the cold crystal-clear waters of the oldest lake on the planet. More options to explore the town, see its districts of traditional wooden architecture and partake of rich ethnic cuisine. Don’t miss having a dish of “omul” – delicious fish that lives in Lake Baikal only.
DAY 10.  Have breakfast and be ready to check out from the hotel at noon. The bus will take you to the Hotel Baikal in Irkutsk. Have a gala night in the capital of Siberia. Hotel personnel will advise you on best places to see, try out, dine.
DAY 11.  After breakfast the city of Irkutsk is all yours to explore and enjoy. Try not to miss the city’s art gallery with excellent collections of old and new artists, some of the paintings available for sale. Visit the Mineralogical Museum displaying local gems, jewelry and rare crafts made of local semi-precious stones. A hydrofoil ride on the Angara River is another exciting option.
DAY 12.  You re-embark on the Trans-Siberian Express at about noon and continue your epic rail journey through Siberia.
DAY 13 AND 14.  You will cover thousands of kilometers and view unforgettable scenery. The section between Irkutsk and the city of Ulan-Ude is perhaps the most interesting and picturesque part of the Trans-Siberian railway. It is called “The Golden Buckle of the Great Siberian Trail” and it took four years to build. A rail span of 56 miles from Station Kultuk to Port Baikal goes through 48 arches, tunnels and a multitude of bridge-supporting walls.
DAY 15.  Today you arrive in the final destination of your Great Trans-Siberian Train Voyage. You are in the Far East of Russia, in the city of Vladivostok, also called “The Bosporus of the East.” The driver takes you to the Hotel Gavan and, after you check in, an English-speaking guide shows you Vladivostok in a city tour. You may want to visit the Gallery of Modern Art or the city’s enormous flea market.
DAY 16.  Have breakfast and embark on another adventure – a cruise of Peter the Great Harbor in the Sea of Japan. Before you return to your hotel, you can stroll in the streets of this boisterous port, enjoy its restaurants and shows, and take in the gorgeous oceanside sunset.
DAY 17.  Go to the airport after breakfast for your flight to Moscow. You will stay at the Holiday Inn in Moscow this night. You have several hours to enjoy your last night in Moscow.
DAY 18.  After breakfast, transfer to the Moscow International Airport “Sheremetievo 2″ and board your flight for New York with a huge luggage of unforgettable impressions to share with your family and friends at home.
